gold currency country should be

ğ at 1/6d; and that any such officer having either a

wife and child or children or having two or more

children in a gold currency country should be allowed

to convert his sterling salary at the rate of 6/8 at

8. I would propose that for this purpose "child"

should be defined as a child of either sex who has not

reached his or her 21st birthday and that the

privilege should apply to periods spent on voyages to

officers would be eligible for any relief on such

terms.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient, humble servant,

Tu

Governor, &c.
